ETERNITY '09

 

IGIT IEEE organised ETERNITY - IEEE week in October'09. It was organised in the last week of October. It was no less than a fest in itself,obviously on a small scale. Workshops were conducted along with other events like Group Discussion, C/C++ Quiz, and the likes of these. The Week saw pariticpation from various colleges in Delhi.

Some of the highlights of ETERNITY include:
1.MITBOTS WORKSHOP
2.TIMES WORKSHOP - "Understanding stock market "

An inter college BAR CAMP was also organised. The topic was SUSTAINABLE INDIA. The event was a huge success and the key speaker was : Mr. Daman Dev Sood, IEEE Delhi Section - Secretary, Chair CS Chapter, Chair Technical, Professional Activities, Coordinator NDLP CII - Convener CSR Taskpanel, Western UP Zonal Council Head - Business Continuity Management (UK, India) Group Green Committee - India Representative ,Steria

The various issues discussed were:

  1. technologies for sustainable development
  2. population and sustainability
  3. energy efficiency( including lighting)
  4. economic transition to market economy
  5. ecological footprint
  6. creation of satellite townships
  7. public and private transportation
  8. legislation and enforcement
  9. waste and pollution reduction
  10. historic preservation
  11. a net zero carbon house
  12. waste to energy conversion-green electricity environmental information network.


Almost 62 students of colleges IGIT, USIT, GPMCE and GTBIT attended the event. Out of this number, almost 40 were IEEE members.
There was a huge participation in all the events both formal and informal.
